Our SD18 is a traditional dreadnought in every respect except for its sound. Made with a solid Sitka spruce top and mahogany back and sides, its woods are a classic configuration for this style guitar but its internal construction is a forward shifted scalloped X bracing system with some proprietary tweaks. This creates a more modern, more open and more dynamic tonal palette than many traditional dreadnoughts.
The SD18 is a warm sounding guitar. The middle and bass registers are prominent and for strumming or flat-picking this guitar is fantastic. The sound box is alive and therefore the guitar is responsive and playing it is a lot of fun.
Traditional components such as a real bone nut and saddle, mahogany neck with a dovetail joint and rosewood bridge and fingerboard add to its tonal capabilities and overall quality, and cosmetically it’s a true classic with tortoiseshell binding and pickguard.
